Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and cream unti light. Sift flour, cocoa, cinnamon and soda; add alternately with applesauce. Blend and add nuts and vanilla. Pour into two 8 inch greased and floured cake pans and bake until done. Icing: Sift dry ingredients and add vanilla and butter; blend until smooth. May adjust consistency with canned milk or more powdered sugar. Randy Rigg
