1.Melt butter in a large saucepan; add flour, stirring constantly. 2.Add chicken broth and then hot milk, stirring constantly. 3.Add cheese and salt. Bring sauce to a boil, thenreduce heat and cook slowly for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool to lukewarm. 4.Beat with wire whisk until smooth.
