Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 10"x1 1/2" round baking dish or other shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Spoon cherries into dish. Combine milk, sugar, flour, eggs, margarine and almond extract in food processor. Whirl until pureed. Pour batter over cherries. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake uncovered for 35-40 mins or until top is golden and center is set. Tent loosely with foil if top is browning too fast. Let cool to room temperature. Sprinkle confectioner's sugar in a sifter over the top. Serve warm or chilled.
