* For a thinner beverage, you don't have to drain the yogurt.
Place the pear, almond extract, and maple syrup in a double boiler. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, or until the pear is very tender. (I would think you could cook the mixture in the microwave, too.) Refrigerate until well chilled.
Place the milk, the pear mixture, and the drained yogurt in a blender. Process until smooth.
