1 Tasse | Pillsbury's Best All-Purpose Flour*, sifted |
1/4 Tasse | Confectioners' sugar |
1/2 Tasse | butter |
1/4 Tasse | Pillsbury's Best All-Purpose Flour* |
3/4 Tasse | sugar |
1/2 Teelöffel | baking powder double-acting |
1/4 Teelöffel | salt |
2 | Eggs slightly beaten |
1/2 Tasse | Maraschino cherries; finely cut |
1/2 Tasse | coconut |
1/2 Tasse | Funsten's Walnuts; chopped |
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then for 30 to 40 minutes. Makes 3 dozen. Sift together the 1 cup flour with the confectioners' sugar. Cut n butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture firmly into ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 10 minutes. Sift together into mixing bowl 1/4 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs. Stir in maraschino cherries, coconut, and walnuts. Spread over partially-baked mixture. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. *For use with Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
