5 Esslöffel | butter or margarine, softened |
1/3 Tasse | brown sugar |
1 Tasse | flour |
1 1/4 Tasse | walnuts finely chopped |
1 Packung | (8 oz.) cream cheese; light or regular |
1/2 Tasse | sugar |
1 | egg |
2 Esslöffel | milk |
1 Esslöffel | lemon juice |
1/2 Teelöffel | vanilla |

In a mixer bowl, cream together margarine and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in flour and nuts. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture.
Press remaining mixture into bottom of ungreased 8x8x2-inch baking pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, in medium mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar. Add egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla; beat well. Pour over baked layer in baking pan. Sprinkle reserved flour mixture over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Store, covered, in the refrigerator. Makes 2-3 dozen bars.
I doubled the recipe. I will make them again for special occasions.
