Wash beets & cook until tender. Dip in cold water & peel off skins. Make syrup of sugar, water, vingar, cloves, allspice & cinnamon. Pour over beets & boil 10 minutes uncovered. Pack beets with syrup to cover into hot sterilized jars & seal at once.
